i like Kubrick's version of this story better. but this does a good job of modernizing the story.

It's kind of the "Mommie Dearest" version without the Clare Quilty character.

I agree with cocobug1 100%! The young girl in Lolita was abused and manipulated; she was a victim, not obsessed and psychotic.

This isn't anything like Lolita because in Lolita it went both ways. Yes, Lo was manipulated and verbally abused, but so was Humbert by Lolita as well.
