The fights at the end are so ridiculous (Spoilers)

The behaviors of many characters at the end were so over the top that I’m not sure if they were intentionally funny. At the end, Adrienne appeared to be just swinging her stick at everyone indiscriminately. Her father was equally crazy. He knew that his daughter had escaped to see Nick, and yet he immediately grabbed Nick’s throat when he saw them struggling. Adrienne “saved” Nick by knocking her father unconscious, but then ferociously attacked Nick. What was she thinking?

Also, some characters appeared to have almost superhuman strength and endurance. How did Adrienne manage to lift a girl of her own size up the attic? Nick was none the worse after a fall of some fifteen feet and hit six or seven times by Adrienne with a heavy stick.

The most ridiculous scene was towards the end, in which Nick punched Adrienne. Adrienne literally flew through the air for a distance of something like ten feet, as if she had been hit by a two-ton truck. Had Nick suddenly acquired the strength of the Hulk?!

I haven't seen this movie in quite some time and I could be wrong but Cheyenne might have already been in the attic looking for the diary that she told Nick about. But it's still strange how Adrienne managed to tie her to the merry-go-round without a struggle happening and without Nick hearing it. Even if Cheyenne was physically weaker than Adrienne, she's still big enough to be able to put up some kind of fight.

But I agree that the punch that sent Adrienne through the air was stupid. If he hit her hard enough to do that, he would have broken her jaw, knocked out a few teeth, and probably done some permanent damage to her face. But she looked fresh as a daisy.

I agree the movie started getting ridiculous right when Cheyenne (lovely Amber Benson from Buffy<3)went looking for Darian's diary. I also didn't get why Nick immediately went after her, he didn't know Darian would be there as well. It was definitely strange how she managed to tie Cheyenne to the merry-go-round and I couldn't stop laughing at all the crazy fight scenes in the end. The actual ending was kinda fun with Alicia ending up in some mental institution and with a new "love interest", but anything but original.

I am half-sick of shadows.

In answer to what you said in your second sentence: after Cheyenne had left, Nick heard someone playing the piano. Since Adrienne (Darian) was supposed to be away with her parents, Nick suspected (correctly) that she had somehow come back and Cheyenne might be in danger.

The end of the movie felt contrived. I can excuse the super punch though. I look at that as payback for the slap Adrienne gave Nick a little earlier in the movie.

They fit in well with the movie as a whole. The entire thing was ridiculous.

I thought that was the most funniest crap I ever seen in the whole movie.

Everybody is a sombody but it's on you if your a nobody.

I can't say I did not enjoy the movie but the punch at the end was the most ridiculous part by far. I especially loved the sound effect that was added to imply the severity of the hulk like hit knocking her across the entire attic. Haha
