Poison Ivy or The Crush, your ratings ??

Mine:

Poison Ivy - 7
The Crush - 8

Both are good movies with similar storylines and great performances by the leads. But i liked "The Crush" more, I couldn't believe it was Alicia Silverstone's acting debut. She was phenomenal, the way her cute voice changes to loud screams, irritating to some but i loved it, esp. in that scene where she slaps Eliot.

Her final stare at the camera, she looked so good with that cunning look.

Drew in Poison Ivy, indeed was charming and sexy in that trashy wardrobe but my vote will go for Alicia.

Neither are great films. I think Poison Ivy holds up better with repeat viewings than The Crush. The Crush doesn't have any subtext, there's no explanation for why she does what she does. The production values are great, but the film itself is pretty predictable. There isn't anything wrong with it, but there isn't anything that makes this movie stand out. Movies of this ilk were pretty common in the 90s.

How interesting. I watched this just now and during the movie I remembered Poison Ivy. I liked them both but prefer The Crush mainly because of Alicia Silverstone. Drew Barrymore never really did much for me.
