Whatever he would do - he cannot prevent Darian to be such an obssesive towards him. And since she has no problem to kill and destroy people life while risking being caught (seems like she does not even think about it) and is a complete pshycho who do not think about nothing else than reaching a particular goal - there ia no way to defeat her in this game other than to move far away. Anything else one can do in Nick's situation (in my opinion) is stuff that can put him to jail - all the way from threaten her in a very frightening way to killing her.

Everytime I watch this movie and it gets to the bit where he (presumably) destroys the shrine and then nails the door up.... I'm always like, WHY IN THE HECK ARE YOU DOING THAT?!?! THERE IS YOUR CHANCE TO SHOW HER PARENTS!!! But think about it though... I bet her parents would not believe Nick and think it was just something he did himself. Their precious little girl could do no wrong!!!!

I know. But something similar happened to me and I foolishly acted just like Nick. I was in the heat of the moment in shock and I wasn't thinking clearly and too naive about evidence. I guess it happens.
