Why did they name Yoba Yul Brynner
Was this a tribute to the late grate actor of the same name from all the religious movies?

shareJust a stupid joke.... just like Sanka Coffie being the other guy's name.
shareBut it’s based on a real thing sir
shareActually, most of it is fiction.

I live in Calgary
shareTake out the drama, the need to prove themselves to the world, which was pretty much "cool" with the whole shindig of letting the Jamaicans compete without hostility.
I know you're disappointed Calgary refused to hold future Olympic Winter Games through a majority vote referendum earlier this year.

Yes I am disappointed. Our mayor sucks
shareI read your city counsel was already convinced on rejecting the initiative even if the "YES" vote went through. Seems your city was concerned about the price tag not being worth the exposure.

We wanted to be bigger and better than Vancouver but with way less money
shareAnd Sweden is like that kid in class constantly raising its hand saying "Oh, oh, please pick me, pick me, come on, pick ME!" and the teacher, the IOC, the International Olympic Committee, continues to roll eyes in frustration seeing there are no other takers but don't want to ask Sweden again if they're willing because they are not cool enough.
I feel your pain. Twin B even more since he's a sports person himself, liking the big festive events when they're in town.

Yoba was bald, acting high and mighty like he's royalty, or in Yul Brynner's case, at least the presence of one since Brynner can cross the line between a gentleman and a scoundrel without really trying to act.
~~/o/
Yes twinA. Agreed.
OP- it was just a nickname based on his shaved head.
