Censoring on TV

I watched this on TBS recently and they cut out my favorite part. When they're sitting around after painting their sled and trying to think of what to name it, Jr. says "what about 'Tallulah?'" and I think Sanka says something like "it sounds like a 2 dollar whore" and he comes back with "that was my mother's name."

It's probably the most brilliant lines in the movie and they *beep* cut it out.

Yeah I watched it on the BBC aswell today.

Nothing was censored IIRC. "*sshole" wasn't censored, which surprised me seeing as people seem to think it's a terrible word for the most part.

Are you kidding me? I'm either going mad or the whole film was butchered. I remember in the film a whole part before the crash where the bobsled was tampered with by their rivals, this was missing in the bbc showing. The crash just didnt make sense then, no explanation. why?

reply

I have never seen a version where the bobsled was tampered with?!
The crash made perfect sense, it was a rickety old rubbish bobsled that fell to bits?

'Crazy? Insane? Insane? Crazy?!'

reply

Yea, I remember seeing a version that showed the tampering. But now its gone.

I have the DVD. Nothing is censored, and I have never seen that part. Also, they gave clues throughout the movie that it was an old, beaten-up bobsled.

If I go to Italy, I can say I met Mario and Luigi in real life...

They also cut scenes on TV like when they hit the cop car I thought the cops busted out laughing when they said they were a bobsled team, an they cut the scene where they get to Canada an see how cold it is so they all bundle up in all their clothing an Sanka wears his bag out.

Wait a second.. this is a food restaurant we dont serve salad

I saw this in the cinema, VHS on RTE, BBC and Sky and never remember a tampering scene but before Sky brought in the PIN service for 12+ movies during the day they had an edited version where they cut out ásshole and badass mother.

I've had a lot of sobering thoughts in my time Del Boy, it's them that started me drinking!

This is one of my all-time favorite movies. The bobsled was never tampered with, it was just old and worn out, and it began to fall apart at a crucial moment.

I intend to live forever.
So far, so good.
