A silly question, really. At the end of the movie, there is an epilogue which states that the team returned four years later - "as equals". Did that mean they came back as an independent team (not representing any particular country, which is somewhat unlikely) or they were considered equal to other featured teams.
I've trawled all the posts and couldn't get an answer.
In the movie, the other teams viewed them as outcasts. When they returned the next Olympic games, the teams didn't treat them as outcasts anymore. They were now one of them.
However in real life, there was never any sort of problems with Jamaica bobsledding. Apparently, the other teams welcomed Jamaica with open arms.
Just a minor curiosity really, because it was said in the trivia section, that "contrary to what was said in the end of the movie, the jamiacan team did not return as independents but continued representing Jamiaca". But now I can't find that. So yeah. Thanks.
No problem. I don't remember his name, but I remember meeting an Olympic bobsledder from that year of the Olympics. He was from England. He said that many of the other teams were shocked and blown away. They also felt very encouraged from the start to see such a contrast.
Yeah, the whole movie is a sham on the Jamacian team. In reallity the real events had nothing to do with those in the movie, but it does make for an interesting take. So hey what can you say?
