What kind of car does he drive in the movie?

I quote.

"The frightening statistics of young earthlings mangling themselves in internal-combustion vehicles on the night of prom ritual makes me insist that we use maximum safty awareness. Return at the prdesignated time coordinates and in fact, take my car. It's reinforced alloy superstructure is far superior to that of your broken down rusted-out *beep* box."

Sorry I haven't see nthe movie in a long time and I just can't remember.

a 'ford lincoln mercury sable', modified for what he does for a living, giving driving lessons.

Not to be nit picky, but it's just a Mercury Sable, not Ford,Linclon,Mercury Sable. That would be kind of like saying
"I have a Chevrolet, G.M.C. Pontiac, Cadillac, Buick, Oldsmobile.....Camaro."

I don't remember the line, but wouldn't it be just like him to recite what he read on the back of the car? Perhaps a "Ford/Lincoln/Mercury" dealer put their tag above the "Sable" tag on the back.

When the Coneheads go back to Remulak, they bring "an owner's manual to a Ford Lincoln Mercury Sable." When asked what it was, Beldar replies "a personal conveyance named after its inventor, an assassainated ruler, a character from Greco-Roman myth, and a small furry mammal." This dialogue implies that Beldar used a Mercury Sable in his driving instructor job.

93 Mercury Sable is correct. (I had an 88 and a 95, damned fine cars). His calling it a Ford Lincoln Mercury Sable is a stretch, but the Sable was sold only at Lincoln Mercury dealers (always franchised together). Ford of course being the parent company of Lincoln Mercury, and it made such an amusing description by Beldar in his rapid monotone as posted above.
