Anyone else laugh

At Big Al and Popeyes scenes? Those scenes were classic. Big Al serving food and when Miklo meets him in the back room the 2nd time. Popeye wanting some chon chon, too many to list with Popeye...

reply

HAHA i love the way big al says "wan some toh-tee-uhhhs"

reply

my 2 sons who were about 10 or 11, remember word for word some of the funny sayings. Everyone just cracks up laughing.

reply

ya the whole movie is hilarious, i havent seen it in years but can still throw the quotes out there. Miklo, popeye, and al are the funniest though!

reply

Popeye tipping off the cops and shot is a close-up of just his mouth. Rewound that ten times. LOL

reply

Popeye: Just a *beep* minute, your majesty!"

“The devil can cite scripture for his purpose.”
- The Merchant of Venice, Act I, scene iii

reply

Popeye: "Tell him to suck his peepee!"

The way he delivers that line ALWAYS cracks me up!

El Paso, Texas...ever heard of it?

reply

"There's a big deal going down at ZODIES!!!!"

I know that's not how it really goes, but it's funny.

Anyone remember Zodies?

you were born a pig farmer.
you'll always BE a pig farmer.
And now, you will DIE a pig farmer.

reply

"Oye Narco, you like busting dope dealers?" The way he delivered that line makes me laugh.

reply

Hahaha popeye and big al make me wonder how, or IF people even took this movie seriously back in the day

Can you imagine the stink it had to endure?

reply

Oye narrrrcooo.

is he actually latino? he looked like he could've been dominican but his accent was just all over the place. was he faking it? magic too..

reply

Magic is of Cuban Decent.

reply

what about popeye?

reply

Al to Popeye: "You bet cash, you lose cash, you pay cash, Pimpmobile. And soon! . . . Or else I'm going to have to get Red Ryder to cut some fat off that tummy of yours."

Al to Miklo: "I'm tired of you swinging your precious little ass around like you own the joint! You haven't put out worth $h!t!

reply

I thought it was funny when he said, "Hey Cinderella, go find yourself another fella the clock just struck one......b***h!"

reply

The whole line: "Hey, Cinderella, go find yourself a fella. You're on the clock, bitch, and midnight is coming. You got the wrong man." LOL!

Popeye to Al: "Suave, Al. I'll pay you what I owe, but don't try to threaten me with your AV insurance policy, because remember, I got a policy with Ryder, too. He knows better than to f--k with a good customer." (Just the way he said that was hilarious. In fact, you can pull out any Popeye line and it's funny just how he says it no matter what he says. The guy is just a terrible actor so it's funny to watch him try to act.)

reply

lol... "paeeedrooo"...

reply

The absolute best is when Miklos gets out of jail and goes to Popeye's and Popeye answers the door in his red chonies. I agree with the guy who said his best line is "tell him to suck his pee pee."

reply

HAHAHA

Popeye was hilarious in that movie, this movie is just too silly to be take it serious.

reply

My other favorite line is "te voy a pintar mija...te voy a pintar."

reply

My favorite funny moment is when Red Rider and the Aryans have Miklo on the ground and take his leg off.....and Miklo kicks at him with his stump.

reply

Carlos Carrasco, who played "Popeye," is of Panamanian descent.

Al: "You know the f---in' trip, homes, no freebies!"
Magic: "Your momma was a freebie!"

Cyclone: "What's your problem, man?"
Popeye: "Hey, I got no problem, brotha! Orale, Bonafide, that's a f---in' fine comb you got. You should give it to one of my bitches!"
Pockets: "Better watch your mouth, sucker!"
Popeye: "Put your spear down, Pockets!"

Big Al: "Hate to disappoint your gods, but unless you got a carton of smokes, no seconds."
Cyclone: "Motherf---er!"
Big Al: "Ahhh, Allah is blushiiing!"
Cyclone: "I ain't no Moslem (Muslim), man!"
Big Al: "Alright. Hey, how about a little wager on this weekend's game?"
Cyclone: "Your odds stink and I aint movin' until I get another chop!"
Big Al: "Move on, n----r, before I carpet my cell with your black skin!"

There were other ones that made me laugh, but the prison scenes are really the most memorable of the bunch.

reply

The Cyclone, Pockets, Popeye must be on the DVD I only have the VHS at the moment.

But I like Popeye answering the door in his draws, legs wide open with his arms open trying to hug Miklo. Yeah, he was in jail ENTIRELY too long. I ain't huggin no guy who's wearing just his draws.

Of course Billy Boy Thorton as the 'Yes Man' is hilarious too. Did he have anything resembling an original thought before he attacked Miklo and Miklo kicked at him with his stump?

Am I Insane? YES!!

reply

To me, Big Al was pure comic relief in this movie.

"No pintos for you baby, nuthin but Texas barbecue." LMAO!

The Big Al character is so funny and cracks me up everytime I watch the movie.
"In youuur dreeeams Pedrooo, i youuur dreeeams"

reply

Every scene with Popeye and Miklo was hilarious and classic, except the one where Miklo threatens that dude who Cruzito owes money to and forcefully becomes part of the bank heist scheme leaving Popeye completely out of the deal. That was the only time where Miklo truly stepped up to Popeye and pretty much the last exchange between them in the movie. Too bad this made Popeye rat them out and eventually made Paco shoot him in the leg, turning him into a cripple for life..oh well, sucks to be Miklo.

As much as I found Popeye hilarious, the writers should've created a scenario where Miklo finally kills him after all those years of disrespect, humiliation and sneakiness from Popeye. Popeye truly deserved to die.

reply

big al should have been a spin off; he lines and looks were so classicly funny. ditto popeye. those two to me were more for comic relief than realism. enjoy them.
