So dated now, Latinos don't talk like this at all
Latinos now have the 'up talk' inflection (going up on the end of words).
This is like watching a parody of latino people on comedy central.

of course its outdated....the movie took place from the early 70's to early 80's.....thats like looking at a beta max cassette player and putting it next to your blue ray.
"You're so cool im gonna call you culo"
Oye vato...whud are you talkin' about homes...??
I love this movie - it's in my ALL time top 10 and I especially love the 'speak' carnales!
Mi vario ese :)

when i made this post i hadn't watched all of the movie. i now accept their latino gangsta accents, even if cheesy :D
Oh, and it's spelt barrio.
Orale! I went on to further my love of the Latino language when I stumbled across the Chicano rock band 'Los Lonely Boys'. They make some beautiful music with great lyrics, and I know have all their albums.
No need for the 'Oh' homes, the word is spelt both 'Barrio' AND ' Varrio' ese - albeit that I missed an 'r' in my original spelling :)
Ok cholo?
Peace

No, sorry...it's spelled BARRIO, but the B is pronounced as a V.
shareIn the Chicano Slang of California the V sometimes replaces the B in words, a lot of the Spanish spoken in California is considered its own dialect, so even if you were to learn it say via Rosetta Stone (which its self offers the Spanish Dialect and the Mexico Dialect) the California Dialect (sometimes refereed to as Calo) is whats mostly spoken in the modern house hold. Usually someone who speaks with the B in Barrio is generally from Mexico while some who speaks with the V is from America.
As for the dated, the movie came out in 93 and a lot of the styles and way they talk was already out dated by then considering it takes place in the 70s and 80s. Infact if you dress like how they dressed in the beginning you're considered Old School because its no longer in style really.
In my country, they have NEVER ever spoke like this, unless when this movie was hype in the mid 90's and every school kid was into "Vatos Locos Forever".
Please excuse my terrible redaction, english is not my native language
