Which cut does Raimi prefer?
I've read comments claiming Raimi doesn't consider the "Director's Cut" to be his preferred version, but I know he prefers the apocalyptic ending.
Anybody know which version he ultimately prefers?

it's kind of contradictory, if he's the Director, his 'version' should be the director's cut, whatever that is. I think the 'comments' are probably flat-out wrong.
"He's dusted, busted and disgusted, but he's ok"
It's not uncommon for a studio to falsely label a version the "director's cut" just to sell the movie. Alien: Director's Cut, for example. Ridley considers the theatrical version to be the director's cut. It's the version he prefers. So seeing "Director's Cut" on a movie doesn't always assure me it's actually the director's preferred version.
shareIf you listen to his commentary on AOD, there are things he doesn't like in the "Director's Cut". Mainly the love scene between Ash and Sheila and when she puts the cape on him. He said that he's glad fans could see the scene but it weighs down the film and is "too heavy for the picture".
He also states that Universal did cut up the film and remove a lot, but he had slight input in that process, as well. He says he can't put all the blame on Universal.
Give it a listen, it's amazing.
