30th anniversary 2023

Any word if there will be a new season/movie or reunion to celebrate the franchise’s 30th anniversary in 2023? It’s still a year away, but if there will be anything, it would probably be in the development phase now. If nothing happens in 2023, I don’t see there being another direct continuation of The X-Files, but maybe down the line there could be a reboot with Mulder mentoring a new generation of X-Files members, which would be preferable to an all-out remake of the franchise.

Thirty years. That is hard to believe. I clearly remember being glued to the first episode - and addicted after that!

Same here. Seems like The Simpson’s and The X-Files ruled the airwaves from the early 90’s to the turn of the century. Sure, there were a few forgettable episodes but also some great stand-alone episodes and even better story arcs. But, thirty years is a long time and it just slipped away. Which is why I was shocked to see Comet TV now airs The X-Files. Nothing says you’re getting old like having the cool, hip show you loved now residing in what is essentially broadcasting’s bargain bin. C’est la vie.

With the fans griping about the films, that last season and Gillian saying she's done I wouldn't get my hopes up. I liked it all but they probably do listen to naysayers.
