What did the Go chip do?

Did it turn Kruetzer into a hologram? Why did he want to be turned to into a hologram? So he could live eternally? Did he think the people on memazine would worship him because he was a hologram?

What was Coty talking about at the end when he said that he saw Kruetzer float away or whatever?

At some point, Kreutzer said something like "In a couple of years, half the world will be on Mimezine and I'll be like Christ, able to access their dreams...". I think the Go chip would turn him into a "super-hologram" - not only an image like the Channel 3 TV-holograms, but an image with his real soul to control it. (So that even if Kreutzer died, his "image" would still be alive, thus making him "immortal".)

And apparently, with the chip he would be able to control all the people on Mimezine, "connecting" with their brain or something, accessing their thoughts and dreams and becoming a kind of all-powerful Messiah.

I'm not sure what happened to Kreutzer with that altered chip at the end, though - Harry tells Coty he talked to him in the living room (where Kreutzer "disintegrated" in front of him and Paige) and Coty replies : "Funny, his body is in the guest house. I talked to him for a while, then he floated over the roof like a Chagall..." That would mean that the Kreutzer Harry talked to was just a hologram, but that the real Kreutzer also disappeared/got killed somehow. (Chagall is a painter, by the way.)

.................
"You know, this is - excuse me - a damn fine cup of coffee."

he probably died due to a complication during the surgery. his bratty son was talking to the hologram version of him when he floated away.
