Don't ya hate not knowing?

I remember being up at night waiting for the next episode every week! When you're a kid you have no idea of shows being canceled or anything, you just think "maybe I missed the new episode last week?" or something. This show was awesome and it really does deserve a DVD set. Maybe someone has it via file share or you tube?

reply

It totally deserves a DVD set. And I can relate to the whole "maybe I missed the new eppy" vibe. One day it was there and the next it wasn't. But then again that happens with a lot of the shows I like :/

I feel ya, this show was a lot of fun when I was a kid. Some episodes were much better than others, but I was always looking forward to the return of Sep Dietrick(It is funny they used a name of one of Hitler's bodygaurds) and a showdown with the doctor (I think he was sort of a futuristic Dr. Moriarty).

reply

Sep Dietrick did in fact return. Not really all that funny to use a bodyguard's name considering it was Nazi hate crimes all over again. it was rather inventive of them.

reply

does anyone remember how the series ended?

reply

the show was cancelled after the season 2 finale had been filmed so they couldn't film an actual ending, so it just ends as a normal episode

reply

Yes it was inventive of them all right! SYFY Channel should be showing this in reruns because it is a futuristic show. I mean come on now I think that NBC should buy the rights to this and place this into syndication once again. The problem with that is they would want a whole new cast to do it instead of the original people that they used.

If you want to complain to someone about the programming of SYFY Channel NBC owns them along with USA Network as well. Just thought I would let everyone know about it.

You can see some episodes on Joost - they only have 18 there, but the quality is not bad.

reply

Actually it isn't on Joost anymore. That site sucks for watching episodes of shows now. It used to be a great site but now you get scwat.

I know exactly what you mean because I grew up back in the 70's and 80's watching TV shows that I really loved but they would wind up getting canceled and I would wonder why as well man. I am 38 years old and thought this was a great show and it should have lasted at least 5 possibly 6 seasons to be honest with you about it.

Yes it does need to come out on a DVD box set for us fans to watch. SYFY Channel needs to show this on their channel in marathons like they have done a lot of other shows in the past.

I used to watch this all the time when I was a kid too, but had no idea how to find out about ratings and if shows were going to stick around and such. I really dug it back at the time, one of the few I caught from the pilot on.

Really lame it only lasted two seasons and didn't get a proper finale.

I was actually a teenager at the time when this show was on and in high school. So you can still consider that in being a kid. LOL It was a great show to watch and I do not understand on how some people like the most stupid shows and they last on TV forever for some reason I do not know why though.

I'm with you there it seems the better the show the shorter it lasts.

reply

It is always like that for some reason I do not know why though. I guess some people are not too smart about what they watch. Actually now when I look at the time when the show came out I was like 21 years old. I was still young and thought the show was great to watch. I enjoyed it and wished it would have had like a 5 year run. Who knows possibly one of us fans who watched this show in the early 90's might decide to sit down and write a screenplay for a film or two to start a franchise up for it.

When it was decided this TV show was going to be cancelled after only two seasons had aired- the studio should have made a 2-hour special where Darien Lambert will finally get to return to his own time. Dr. Mordecai Sahmbi would be causing his most evil scheme ever- so this would be when he finally gets stopped once and for all. He probably would have been killed off just so the fans would be able to believe everything was all over. Mia Sara could have returned to play Annie Knox as well.
