No north American bluray?
Does anyone know when a region 1 bluray is coming?
shareIt's Universal. They suck that way. For instance, McCloud was an American show and ran successfully for seven seasons. You'd think they would release all seven seasons on DVD, but nope. They released the first two on one set, and not even properly. They just threw together the TV movies that were haphazardly edited from those episodes, which made it a terrible set that fans hated. Claimed they didn't have the original first season episodes anymore. Then came licensee Madman Entertainment in Australia, who not only issued all seven seasons, they even found the original episodes after an exhaustive search, episodes Universal said didn't exist anymore. Likewise, the complete show is available on DVD in Denmark. Twelve years later, Universal still hasn't issued so much as one additional episode on Region 1 DVD. One half-hearted effort that made fans feel cheated and they claim nobody wants to buy DVDs of the show.
Universal is infamous for their boneheaded decisions. In the HD format war, they were the lone studio that proclaimed they would release exclusively on HD-DVD, while other studios backed both or Blu-ray. That prolonged the war because people didn't want to have to buy two players. If you wonder why cheap Blu-ray disks didn't come years earlier, look no further than Universal.
