shareConsider yourself lucky... this was just a cheap bastardization of the original series. A sad attempt to keep it going, but it was just bad.

I was raised on Saved by the Bell...watched the reruns for years and the college years and the lame movie...yet I don't ever remember watching this show...I feel like I have some sort of buried memory of Screech working at the school, but I didn't realize that it could be from this show.

Yep.

I only watched 2 episodes and hated it. Screech putting plaster of paris all over Mr. Belding was stupid.

For you guys that keep alluding that its a great feat to be on for Seven seasons. Take into context, that it was on Saturday mornings when ratings did not have to be that high to stay on. Plus the original followed the same 6 friends pretty much throughout the 4 seasons they were in high school. This version had characters coming in and out every season. No seasons, that I know of, had the same exact core of students from one season onto the next.
The New Class kind of reminded me of a schools on overseas military bases, where kids would come in for 2-3 years and take off to attend another school at another base.
It was easy to not know that this show was on. I watched a couple of episodes of the first season of the New Class and did not think much of it. I flipped channels on a Saturday morning a few years later and saw it was still on with new characters. Shocker to me was when I channel surfing circa 1999 and I was in great dismay that I found this was still being shown.
