Screech's voice + job.

It bothers me that Screech was Valedictiorian, Zack had off the chart S.A.T.s, and A.C. had a wrestling scholarship to numerous schools but they all chose that crappy California college and Screech ended up as Belding's stooge. Screech's voice bothers me too because he went from the annoying lisp in "Miss Bliss" to that goofball voice he had in "New Class". What a waste.

I guess in "The New Class" we see what Screech is like when Zack and Slater aren't there to hold him back!

In Dustin Diamond's book (Whether it's true or not is up to the reader I guess) he claims that when the New Class started, he wanted to make sure that he made the Screech Character SO over the top that it was obvious he was in a charactor and not really LIKE that as a person. He claims he thought if he did that, it would be easier to go on auditions and be himself, because they'd see how low key HE really was compared to the caricature that was Screech.

I don't think I want to read that book. I've heard there's some pretty messed up things he says in it.
