Sort of OT: Did anyone ever watch Fran's short lived 1991 sitcom?

It was called Princesses, as I'm sure most of you may know already. It only lasted about 5 episodes, even though 8 were taped before Julie Haggerty quit in a huff. I was only 2 when this show was on so I clearly don't remember what the critics were saying about it at that time. I heard that even before Princesses premiered, there was already behind the scenes drama and the show was in trouble. I've seen bits and pieces of this show. I heard that TV Land reran it as part of a special marathon in 2009, in fact, those particular airings are on Youtube. I like the theme song. lol. The Pop Up Book motif was kind of creative. My mom watched it when it was on.

I guess it's a good thing Princesses got cancelled so quickly because then The Nanny wouldn't have existed. But poor Fran has had only one successful sitcom. Princesses bombed, and then Living With Fran/Happily Divorced didn't do so well either.

To be very honest with you, I don't think I have heard about her short lived 1991 TV series and maybe with good reason. But in less you watched it when it aired, there is no way you watch it now because of how short of episodes there was. ANd I would have to agree with you that it is a good thing it was short lived, or we would have never had the Nanny, and you don't ever see anybody be in 2 different TV series at the same time. It is too bad that The Nanny was her only show that went for more then 2 seasons, it would have been great if TVland renewed Happily Divorced for a third season, but the longer that they took to decide its future, chances didn't look as good as it getting renewed for a 3rd season.
