New show = woke

So I think we all know its just gonna tick the all so important woke boxes and be a poor imitation of the great original series

reply

Is it still happening?

Who the fuck wants endless dialogue with Freddie and Alice or Niles' kid?

Plus, everything has changed now. Marty has gone, the radio guys will have moved on, etc.

We wouldn't even see Frasier.

reply

I hope I'm wrong but it could be a huge mistake bringing the character back !

reply

"Is it still happening?"

haha , I thought you meant people bitching about "woke" for a second :)

reply

As long as woke exists, it needs to be bitched about, until it's gone.

reply

I don't think a revival would work either. John Mahoney was such a big reason why "Frasier" was so successful. And I don't want to hear Frasier constantly complaining about his love life anymore either. I really hope they don't bring this back.

reply

I have to agree. What's next? A cheers revival?

I love Frasier. It's a fun show. But it's better to revisit the original series rather than update it for modern times.

reply

I think it's going to stink without Niles, Daphne and Martin. It is usually the support cast in TV shows that make the show. Frasier is the straight man and I don't think he can carry the show alone.

Back on topic, from what I have seen of the cast they are ticking those diversity boxes, the original cast were all white which is verboten now.

reply

Yep and you just know the black characters will be full of wisdom etc

reply

Yep they have made one black woman (two boxes ticked) head of the University Psych department, add lesbian and you get 3 boxes.

And Frasier's son's room mate is a black woman no idea about what she does but she will be perfect of course.
