actually found it a bit touching where Martin showed he cared

In 2 Episodes there were a couple of scenes where Martin really showed he cared. The Episode where Frasier kept having a dream that he was gay, he wakes up and Martin is there he asks Martin if he ever thought Frasier was gay as Frasier knows he fit some of the stereotypes and mold, Martin kindly says it may have crossed his mind but he always knew Frasier was straight, he says it in a very understanding way.

Then theres the episode where B while a gunman is holding the cafe hostage, bulldog hides behind pregnant Ross and gets mistaken as a hero who stopped the gunman. Frasier attempts to get Bulldog to admit what he did, and it doesnt work. And Bulldog is honored as the man of the year, and Frasier very upset, Martin grumbles that hes never going to let it go, Martin then yells that there is a gun to try to prove that Frasier is right. Bulldog then hides behind his mother and everyone notices and Frasier thanks Martin to which Martin says he just wanted him to shut about about it. Frankly though I think Martin was really trying to ease his sons frustration even though he always admired Bulldog.
