Is it believable that Frasier got all those beautiful women?

I didn't find him very good looking. He was overweight and noticeably balding. His hair in the first couple of seasons was terrible (though that mullet thing may have been the style back in the early 90s, idk). Is it really believable that he got all those beautiful women, including models? I don't think he ever dated someone who was actually in his league looks wise.

Maybe it was because he had money and fame? Or was he actually an attractive guy and I'm somehow the only one who doesn't see it?

I think Kelsey Grammer was very good looking as a very young man, but by the time he hit middle age, not so much.

I agree.

That's why I refer to this show (and Seinfeld) as a "comedy/fantasy" (as in both, the title character dated women WAY out of their league looks-wise).

Well, Dr Frasier Crane is both a celebrity and well off, so of course he would attract beautiful women.

Frasier wasn't gorgeous but he wasn't unattractive. I probably wouldn't date him because honestly I very shallow when it comes to balding men. I have to have a good head of hair. However, Frasier had beautiful blue eyes and a very sexy voice. He was also successful and charming.

yeah, couldn't be his humor, personality, good job or the fact that people have different tastes in looks. nooooooooo.

Sure.

Maybe they exaggerated it a bit. Still, he was ok looking. He could've toned up a bit but I didn't consider him very much overweight. He just needed to tone up his stomach a little bit.

He was a celebrity, someone in the public eye, he was successful, smart (even though show portrayed him childish much of the time), he was very refined, distinguished, he had a powerful, manly voice.

I'm sure he wasn't everyone's style but I wouldn't be surprised if he had lots of success dating. He didn't seem to be overly shy or hesitant in asking women out, he did it all the time (although I know there were a couple of episodes in which the joke was his difficulty finding the right moment to make a move or he and the woman getting their signals crossed).

A lot of women go for smart, successful, public figures. He isn't "gorgeous" but he still is somewhat attractive.

By the way, have you seen Kelsey's real life wives? Model types.

At his best he was charming, kind and sophisticated, and a celebrity. He also wasn't hideous and was okay looking - although I do agree his hair was rather out there in the first two seasons.

Despite all that, he wasn't always a chick magnet (I never really thought of him as one), and went through plenty of phases of loneliness and dry spells.

Was it more believable that Charlie Harper got all those beautiful women? I always had an issue with women on that show being two dimensional suckers for whatever Charlie was offering beyond his piggish, using attitude. And then we were supposed to buy a supposedly sophiscated and empowered woman falling for him and believing he will change. Little wonder Two and a Half Men was labeled sexist. But I digress.

Never really watched the show and mostly hated it and never liked Kelsey. But saw few instances and could see some charm in him. But after seeing boss to which im a huge fan and him older. I could see it more believable. He isnt ugly by any stretch and though I agree with most of the things said. Sadly most women are attracted to an older powerful white and serious man. I dont agree with it by any stretch but it is reality and Kelsey in Frasier had all those other things said going for him. Believable or not many top notch actresses and models would sleep with any good for a career notch, a nice dinner, status, fame, has a nice apartment, house, car, is considered by others to be popular. Dont totally agree with but it works that way.

Now you mentioned Charlie Harper. I had to look it up. I hate charlie sheen and never liked any of his stupid boneheaded shows. He's ugly and a lot uglier than Kelsey but in real life he does get a lot of women. Top notch women that even went with him knowing he had aids. Even when he had several others at the same time. No I dont know watch the show nor like its type but he is one of highest paid in the buisness and has so many followings. Someone has to watch it and in real life I know guys like Charlie that get plenty of hot girls after him and I just shake my head. I dont agree with it but its just the way it is.

With Frasier his romantic prospects were depicted as confident, level headed women who were attracted to his aforementioned positive traits, rather than simply be gold diggers. There were some cases, usually for the purposes of comedic relief, where woman were simply attracted to his voice and celebrity status, but nevertheless.

The problem with Two and a Half Men was as mentioned; women being suckers for a piggish, sleazy, and layabout character.

Sure in real life some women are suckers for the shallowness and allow themselves to be used, but these women usually have issues of their own - as did the women in Sheen's personal life, which the show was inspired by. Yet these issues were neve dwelt upon - aside from the character of Rose. Instead we had Sheen, the inept out of work jingle writer - hardly handsome, charming, famous, or rich - effortlessy sleeping with an endless conga line of attractive, cardboard women. They buy into his nothingness, and all of it was simply treated as a comedic trope. Really it was a "Man's World" comedy fantasy.

Anyway, I've been meaning to check to out Boss for awhile but I've a bit hesitant because it was canceled after two seasons.

Of course it's plausible that he'd date very attractive women! He's intelligent and sophisticated, tall-ish and fit, wealthy, locally famous, well-educated, courteous, witty, well-connected, more physically attractive than the average man of his age, and he helps people for a living. Women would be all over him, particularly intelligent, cosmopolitan, good-looking women in their thirties.

It's also plausible that his relationships only lasted a few episodes, or only one. Once all these intelligent, sophisticated, good-looking women found out what an obsessive mess he is, they'd start looking elsewhere.
