Who were the most irredeemable characters on the show?

While a lot of characters that were portrayed as bullies or antagonists, they were given some depth and good qualities, so they weren't entirely evil. But were there any characters you think were completely irredeemable and just plain awful people?

For me, I'd have to say Eddie (Shawn's half-brother) and Stewart (the college professor that tried to sleep with Topanga).

Mr. Mac from "Cult Fiction" was a false prophet, and he didn't belong around kids.

Rachel.

I am also watching the ski episode and I am really noticing lauren. she is acting like a lonely cougar in an average lifetime movie! really? what is she, 17?

Although I see your point, I can't see Linda Cardellini in anything and not like the character. And since anybody new to meet is just there for a quick trip, it's unlikely she got to know anybody like she knew Cory.

I am not sure I understand you here. but I think her character was not as 'oh, that's new, she seems cool' that she was supposed to be.

like the guy who Topanga went to the art gallery with... looked like a vampire. mysteriously hot, but still mysterious. I don't think they hired the actor because he looked mysterious, yet he still looked mysterious.

I think they meant that they loved Linda Cardellini so much that characters she played were never unlikeable.

reply

well, when the show was primetime I understand your point. but now when I see her and the vampire kid Topanga is supposed to date. I see cougars and lifetime movie plots.

Agree with both of these. Rachel was a slutbag who used her sexuality to get whatever she wanted and then moaned and bitched when it was discovered that she didn't fit in with the group.

Lauren was also annoying in that she didn't take no for an answer. If the roles had been reversed and Lauren was a guy who hit on Topanga, knowing she was with Cory, was told by Topanga that she wasn't interested, kissed her, wrote her a letter that went unanswered and then showed up at Chubby's like Lauren did, people would call him a creepy stalker and/or a predator.

SOMETHING IS SRSLY WRONG WITH MAITLAND WARD NOW! this is the only appropriate pic I can find that proves that she is really bonkers.

and I completely agree with you on lauren. apparently she is a hot topic for this forum. folks seem to like her. to be honest, I liked her too -- when I was watching this show in prime time -- when I was 17.

Yeah I didn't care for Lauren at all, she was really annoying.

reply

I agree with you on Stuart and Eddie! Funny how they forgot about Eddie except that one episode! I guess it's like Topanga's sister Nebula who was in one episode in S1.

reply

Eddie is not only like Nebula, but he's also like Stacey, Shawn's older sister.

reply

his father was pretty flipping busy, wasn't he???

To be fair, all we learn from that episode is that Eddie is Shawn's half brother. He could be related to Shawn through Chet or his mother. And since we learn in a later season that the woman Shawn believed to be his mother all his life wasn't actually his mother, it's entirely possible that Eddie is no relation to Shawn at all.

Eddie and Stuart (the college professor). Also, I've gotta throw Rachel in there too. I always thought it was real lousy of her to throw Jack and Eric out of the apartment when they took her in with open arms when she needed it the most. She also thought it was OK to put Cory, Shawn and Topanga's lives in danger. Then she acted like it was the most horrible thing a person can do when Cory and Shawn showed a nude pic of her. Granted, it wasn't classy of them to do that, but I'd say putting someone in a position to be killed by a bear is far worse than that.

Despite only being featured in one episode, I would have to say Crandall from "Janitor Dad" (Season 4, Episode 6). Just a straight up jerk! ;)
