"The Honeymoon Is Over" episode

During this episode, Cory and Topanga realize they are on their own when Shawn moves into the girls' apartment and Cory's parents refuse to take them in. A friend of mine thought they were being cold for not letting the kids stay with them. Now I personally think that the parents acted just right in this situation because these two thought that it was such a good idea to get married with no plan whatsoever on where they were going to live. They actually got into married housing which was uncomfortable to be in but they still weren't homeless. So why the hell should Cory parents have taken them in when they did in fact have a place to live?! Now, do you all think that Cory's parents were being unreasonable or were they right?

reply

no, they were right. but they were also stupid in thinking that a freshman in college would even think about living arrangements when they came back from that kick ass honeymoon. they barely know they need to separate the whites from the colors!

they didn't consider the married housing a place to live because they were not used to making something work/livable. moms always had food on the table and pipes were always fixed. they needed a good dose of reality.

the sad thing... they went around mentioning their engagement and upcoming wedding that the dean would pull them aside and give them a tour of married housing. make them think about whether to marry now or later.

Oh God. Fortune vomits on my eiderdown once more.

Agreed. Plus, why didn't one of his parents even ask them where they were going to live? That would have at least sparked a conversation and they'd have made some sort of arrangements ahead of time.
I find it odd that it never occurred his mother to ask. Like, even just out of curiosity?
