For once and for all, can movies finally put the trope of people not making sure that the villain is truly dead? This happens in just about every other ending, where the characters assume the villain is dead and then of course it turns out he/she is still alive.

Misery
Sleeping with the Enemy
Scream acknowledges this trope
Hollow Man
Obsessed plays with this a little bit, but isn't a true example

Plenty of others, but these are the ones I can think of at the top of my head currently.
