Why did Russell Kill Liotta? He could've held the gun on him until the police got there.

Cause sometimes you gotta kill the person to eliminate the problem. Some people are just to powerful/immune to the law. He would have come back twice as bad and that was his only choice. Look how bad he was already messing with his life.

And anyway who wants to see the villain just get arrested at the end? How dull and realistic is that? Big finale, bad guy dies, quality....

Because he was so *beep* mad at liotta. would you have waited for the police?? I wouldn't. He deserved so much to die.I think it's a refreshing anding, because in most other movies, liotta would've hit the gun out russell's hands, and then there would have been a crazy fight until the cops got there. I would've killed that *beep*
