the end (spoiler)
Hi can someone tell what happens in the last half hour?
I fell asleep watching it and the last thing I saw was Michael in court and his bail being announced as $250,000
Okay, I hope I got it all :)
While Michael is back in jail waiting for his lawyer to pay his bail, Penny comes over to the house to watch Karen, who is upstairs trying to get some rest. While Penny is in the kitchen feeding Tiny the cat, Pete is suddenly standing in front of the kitchen door with groceries. Penny doesn't let him in so Pete says that he's leaving the groceries on the floor outside. When Pete is gone, Penny opens the door to pick up the bag of groceries and she's attacked from behind by Pete (like we didn't see that coming). A while later, Karen wakes up, takes a shower and comes downstairs and sees that someone is making dinner. She thinks it's Penny, but it's in fact Pete.
In the meantime Michael keeps shouting to the guards that he wants a phone-call, which is eventually gets. He phones to his house, but the phone is off the hook. Roger, his lawyer finally pays bail and waits for Michael in front of the police station. Michael drives home like a maniac (with Roger sitting next to him), followed by a motorcycle cop because he goes way to fast.
Back to Karens home, she notices the phone is off the hook, and Pete claims it's because he didn't want her to wake up. She says that she doesn't want to leave Tiny the cat outside at night and goes to the door to get Tiny. The closet door next to the entrance is open and Tiny is in the closet. While getting the cat she sees that Penny lays dead op the top shelve with her head wrapped in plastic. She quickly closes the closet door since Pete is right behind her. Pete mentioned that Karen is very tense (hey, who wouldn't be if you have a psycho killer in your house) and she has to lay on the dinner table so he can give her a massage. She says she doesn't feel pretty and that she will go upstairs to put something sexy on.
After a while, Pete goes upstairs and finds Karen rummaging through the sportsbag where Michael hides his gun. Pete says "are you looking for this" and shows her the gun, which he had all this time (he put his own gun and batch in the kitchen drawer). He also wonders why she hasn't changed yet, like she said, and while she does, he watches her closely putting on a black skirt and white blouse. She takes of her wedding ring and they start to kiss, she plays along just to get her hands on Michaels gun, which Pete put between the back of his jeans. She gets the gun and fires, but Pete has taken out all the bullets. He hits her and she falls onto the bed. Pete calls her "a little cockteaser" and want to rape her and before he gets the chance, the alarm goes off. He puts handcuffs onto her and chains her to a bar in the bathroom. Pete leaves and Michael enters the bathroom and releases Karen. They want to run outside but Pete jumps up from nowhere and Michael and Pete get involved in a fight. Karen runs upstairs and locks herself into the bathroom. Michael and Pete run after her and Pete is yelling to Karen to open the door. She finds some kind of glass object, opens the door and hits Pete in the head with it. I believe that Michael hits him or pushes him down the stairs (not sure, I'm blanking out here). Pete lays still with blood coming out of his head.
Karen en Michael walk down and think Pete is dead. They open the front door to get some fresh air and Karen sits on the veranda, looks over to Michael who stands in the doorway and screams "Look out" !!. Pete somehow manages to get up and wants to attack Michael. Michael shoots him like 6 or 7 times in the chest and finally Pete is dead. They both sit on the veranda with Tiny the cat waiting for the police to arrive...
This film was on the BBC and I read this while I was watching it and when it came to the end it was like I had already seen it because you described it perfectly LOL
