scrip slips up

So ok Ray Liotta manages a good job of scaring everybody but does the script writer have to show Madeleine with about the average intelligence of a boiled rutabaga? The stalker's in her house and has murdered her best friend. Her hub is in jail. Does she go out of the house screaming for help ?Nyaa, she goes right back in to slip into something comfy hoping for a chance to get away from him. And gets called a Wh... when she says no to being molested . Completely wrecks the whole story . But then we know that the hero's on his way for action and reaction.
Tell me how a man can fall off a flight of stairs, either die or knock himself out and wake up just in time to get shot before the police arrive. Last 45 minutes of the movie should be fastforwarded because they are utterly DRAGGING.

at th ened she tries to leave to " get the cat. he's outside" but liotta follows her to the door then bolt locks it. then she sees the gun in his back pocket. theres absolutely nothing she can do. Liotta got her trapped. And anyway do you think you could come up with a better ending. lemme know.

reply

She didn't see the gun in his back pocket, because she went upstairs to find it. After she rifled through the bag, Pete showed up at the doorway with the gun.

Anyway, the last 50 minutes were a bit of a drag, and the entire ending sequence was ridiculously inane.

i agree with the second poster. she was trying to leave, but there was no way out. i think she took a smart approach, go with it. she knew he fantasized about her, so why not let him think she was into it too, then maybe he would relax a bit. that way she had a better chance of turning on him when he least expects it.

I agree with the last two posters. Liotta got her trapped in her own home and she saw what he did to her friend Penny, so all she could really do was play along the game. Put on something sexy, seduce him, take of her wedding ring and make him believe she was into him, so she could get a hold of the gun he had in the back of his jeans. Unfortunately that didn't work out quite as it should have, but if I was in her situation, I'd probably would have done the same thing.

The problem is not with the idiotic ending...but how dumb she was for aloowing this situation to begin with. Kurt Russell was pretty dumb too....!! I just saw this again in my hotel in Nicaragua...hoping it would be better than when I first saw it almost 20 years ago. Trouble was, I hated it even more. I noticed even more plot holes, not to mention too many obvious plot formulas. The biggest problem I had was the fact that KR had $5000 in cash to bribe RL, yet only had $2200 to his name when his lawyer asked about his finances...and...to my recolection.,...RL didn;t even accept the bribe...! This movie is dreadful...and I love KR!
