Almost 20 years has changed my attitude to this.

Originally saw this in the summer of 92 when working in the use. Enjoyed it at the time as a bit of mindless fun but saw it again on the beeb the other night and now almost 2 decades later find myself so much more critical. rather than celebrating the revenge and macho theme which I probably did 20 years ago I now can't but help that russell would have been better to have let the authorities deal with psycho liotta? I mean how are they going to now prove he was behind all shat happened? As far as the police are concerned russell's a cop killer! Now older and hopefully wiser I do find my appreciation of some films has changed markedly.

Not to mention the teacher that he killed and stuffed in the closet.

I agree with the op of this thread, and I posted my own thread called Wrong Ending (spoiler). Plus it would have been great vindication for him to have the crooked cop put on trial, more so than killing him. it was a very generic ending. And as I said on my other thread seeing what would happen to a cop in prison especially a handsome young white cop would have been far more satisfying.

Don't you know that cops get off from their crimes?
