I HATED Kurt Russel's character in this movie

Kurt Russel is made to look like a douche bag in this film who does practically nothing until the end to save his wife from the clutches of that psycho cop. He could have done better than to shoot that b*****d right away after he starts messing with them.

Um, how is going to prison for shooting a cop, for unprovable harassment, going to help him or his wife?

"I'd say this cloud is Cumulo Nimbus."
"Didn't he discover America?"
"Penfold, shush."

This post is sort of silly. For one thing, Michael told his wife immediately upon realizing that Pete was unstable and dangerous to stay away from him--period. She absolutely did not listen to him--didn't even believe him--and carried on a "friendship" with Pete behind Michael's back, having questionable conversations with him and even flirting with him. She more or less deceived her husband about it. Pete is a decorated cop with all kinds of power and connections. What exactly was Michael supposed to do?

I felt the character of Michael was actually pretty realistic, not at all a movie hero type which is partially why the movie works so well. It seems like the OP wants an unreal action hero inserted in what is intended to be a somewhat realistic film about a typical/normal couple.

It wasn't me who was murdered, was it?

I agree Karen should have listened more to Michael, but I can also empathize with her situation; she did not see what Michael and we, as the audience, saw. As far as she was concerned, Pete was the friendly cop who caught the burglar who put a knife to her throat. It was difficult for Karen to accept what Michael told her about Pete, and it is somewhat understandable considering what she went through...

I don't disagree with you. I was only making points about what events occurred because the OP seems to not get it. I agree with you about Karen and that's another reason this movie is so good--the situation is not black and white at all.

"Why couldn't the monkey arrange this from INSIDE the garbage can?"
