What punishment should Quick Mike and Davey-Boy recieve?
I think they should have their faces sliced up like they did to Delilah.
Some stupid fool who goes by liven1812 actually called what they did to Delilah a mistake.

I think someone should hire some assassins to kill them both.
Davey-Boy didn't really do anything did he? I mean he was partners with the guy who cut up Delilah, but not only was he not responsible, he offered to give her a horse when he didn't have to.
Why did they want him to be killed along with Quick Mike?
Hey Deviant,
You are absolutely correct that Davey had nothing to do with the gal getting cut up. He may have been in town with the bad guy, but he tried to stop him from cutting her. I never understood why the gals, Bill, and anyone else made him out to be a bad guy in this.
Best wishes,

castration for the cutting dude
Who replaced John Mclane with an out and out *beep*
They should have each received a whipping (50 lashes for Quick Mike, 20 for Davey Boy), and made to pay a fine of 10 ponies, like they did.
The whole reason this chain of events started was because Little Bill refused to carry out a punishment on the cowboys, instead he wanted payment for damaging the saloon's "property". Little Bill is the real villain who was responsible for the whole mess. His work as a sheriff was about as good as his carpentry, absolutely terrible.

Nice! I agree.
"All Games Contain The Concept Of Death"
Agree except he should have ordered them to pay Delilah and Skinny. Davy was willing to do it voluntarily.
I would say my memory is not what it used to be. But I don't remember what my memory used to be.
I agree with you Degree7. Bill created the whole mess. I don’t think he was a villain; however, he did overcompensate with his behavior thereafter trying to neutralize the assassinations from happening. I could tell he realized he messed up when Skinny came to talk to him while he was building his house. Bill’s facial expressions showed me realization was setting in on the severity of the situations.
shareI just re watched this film after many years.I am wondering why Davey-Boy was given the same punishment as his partner. Quick Mike was the one who cut up a defenseless woman. He even asked Davey to "hold her down" which he did not do.Shooting was too good for Quick Mike.Poor old Davey-Boy....bad luck all around.Guilty by association I suppose. This is a complex story and very unusual for me as to where I found my sympathy lying.
shareHey Chef,
You are completely correct. Davey was not the bad guy here and should not have been harmed.
Best wishes,
Dave Wile
"He even asked Davey to "hold her down" which he did not do."
Yes, he did. Here's a screenshot of Davey standing behind Delilah, holding her arms, while Quick Mike is slashing her with a knife (it's a dark scene so I cranked up the levels to make it easier to see what's going on):

wow i didnt see this in the movie. good job.
shareDavey shouldn't have been killed. Period. It's not even an eye for an eye, in his case, it's a life for nothing.
Quick shouldn't have been killed as well, beaten, reduced to a pulp, whatever. But ruining a life isn't as extreme as terminating one. Or at least, they should've made the disfiguring more 'visible', how about an eye cut or something like that, she had a face full of scars, but at least she was still breathing while Quick and Davey's corpses were still rotting.
This is really something that I can't get over, why would you kill two guys because of what ONE of them did, and it wasn't even killing. All right, the times were different, but you'd think it would take more than that to convince a man like Munny to get back to the wrong side of the Law.
Darth Vader is scary and I The Godfather
I don't think either one deserved to die, although Quick Mike definitely deserved to be thrown in jail for a pretty good stretch. Possibly a whipping as well.
Davy I'm not sure even deserved that. It was hard to tell in the darkness and confusion, but all he did was hold Delilah for a minute, and I think he only did that because he was loyal to his partner and obeyed him, but once he saw what Quick Mike was doing I could have sworn he said something like, "Jesus Mike don't!" Am I the only one who heard this?
I think Davy actually may have been a victim of his own loyalty to his partner, he didn't speak up for himself when Little Bill was questioning him, because it was probably a loyalty code among people you ride with. But unfortunately it cost him. I actually don't think he even took part in the cutting once he realized what Mike was doing.
Yeah, Davey did grab her at first, but once he saw what Mike was doing, he tried to stop it.
sharethat's the whole point of it. it wasnt really about justice. whenever the assassins came to talk the other into doing it, they always make the crime sound worse than it was. they were trying to justify the murder for hire.
shareI think Davey-Boy was one of the most innocent, misunderstood characters in the whole movie. Watch carefully. He did try to pull Quick Mike off Delilah.
shareWell, today, Quick Mike would be made to stand on a street corner holding a sign that read, "I have a really small dick".
shareThat and he also went "above and beyond" (so to speak) and tried to offer his best horse as compensation for the girl. Of course the other whores were right about the fact a horse is not enough to make up for what was done but they failed to see the fact that nothing he ever did could restore the girl's face. He did that as a token of generosity on behalf of his friend, the most valuable thing he had to give as a gesture, only less than actually giving off all his horses and ending up with nothing. They really should have at least taken the bounty off him after that, considering he had done nothing wrong himself.
sharei would say death.
shareThe main point is that either way, flogging or giving horses, justice wasn't served to the victim. Ideally he should have produced enough money to pay her off her contract or something like that by auctioning all his horses and possessions. That and a 10 to 20 year sentence in jail since you really can't have a guy like that out on the loose and ready to flip out again onto the next person that says something he doesn't like hearing. I'm not sure there was proper jail back then but at least heavy flogging comparable to the injuries caused and the aforementioned restitution to the victim.
