and this is the route I will be taking.

Would be interested to read IF you would put the closed ending Pilot sequence in there too - yes I know it is a dream in ep 3 I think isnt it???...

reply

Honestly, I like to think that the closed ending of the pilot is like a Bob origin story, he was human in an alternate timeline who was killed by Mike, knowing he is going to die he tries to open a lodge doorway (why else would there be candles in the exact alignment of the sycamore trees; also they blow out when he dies?) And using the time travel powers of the lodge he wreaks havoc on the residents of twin peaks. So you could say that is how it all began. It fits the "we live inside a dream" philosophy of the show. If the black lodge existed independent of dales dream. Why not an alternate reality as well.

25 years later: a true epilogue where dale meets laura when he is much older and she helps him solve her murder via the dream in episode three. Although he doesn't recall it until much later in the series.

Using these two as bookends to the book, film and series. Plot wise it seems to make sense. Even though bobs origin story is my speculation at best i still think it makes some sense

Very interesting theory there Dodgemaguire.

I also have/am reading Full of Secrets, too. A good addition to the completist list.

On an unrelated theory check this out:

it explains the leland/bob/grandmother/grandson connection

The more theories I find the more this show actually starts to make sense. If only season 3 existed...

It doesn't work at all if you do Fire Walk with Me before Twin Peaks.

There is no reason to do such a thing.

Of course, we do agree with that.

I would assume this 'completist' viewing order would be for those who have seen TP and want to revisit in a sorta chronological way.
