The Ideal Version of Fire Walk with Me - that will never be

Open with Dale Cooper investigating Teresa Bank's murder with Sam. Reach a dead end, have Cooper make message to Diane about killer striking again.

Cut to Laura Palmer and Twin Peaks - NO cutting back to that David Bowie crap that does nothing for the movie, even with deleted scenes added back in. Add back in the Hayward family scene, the trucker scene, The Power and the Glory bit, Leland staring at Laura in the bushes, and the Log Lady hearing the screams. Add back in Annie and the ring situation...

Then end in Lodge.

Too bad no fan edit can fix the issue of the Chris Isaack character. Ugh, I wish Kyle had just agreed to the *beep* movie from day one.

I know David Lynch doesn't care about things making sense.... but it would have made far more sense if it had been Chet Desmond who reappeared in the FBI office talking about what he'd seen above the convenience store. Why have him disappear and then have a different agent reappear unexpectedly?

They don't even find out that Desmond has gone missing until the end of that scene. And although that surely could have been changed with an alteration in the timeline, I think Lynch was going for a recurring theme with these agents. Jeffries disappears years earler, suddenly reappears mentioning a 'Judy' and "the ring." Desmond is investigating Teresa and disappears after finding a ring. And Cooper vanishes to The Black Lodge after investigating Laura, whom he tells "Don't take the ring." It was likely meant to play out in the following two films.

'Person of Interest': filling the 'Breaking Bad'-shaped hole in my heart.
