We need a standalone Blu-ray of this with the newly released cut scenes

The newly released blu-ray version with the 90 minutes of cut footage needs to be released alone.

Those of us who paid good money for the Gold Box DVD deserve it. I don't know about others, but as big a fan as I am, I'm not spending an extra $100+ on the recent Twin Peaks Entire Mystery package (the only place where it is available) just to see it.

Please make it so.

Signed,

A Twin Peaks fan who probably speaks for many others

Quite right. I was holding out for a single movie release, but eventually gave in this week. There's absolutely no good reason not to do this, considering all the scenes are from the movie and not the series. Maybe they will, eventually.

Just forget you ever saw it. It's better that way.

How about a DVD for those of us that don't have a blu-ray player?

How about buying a bluray player? They really are not that much anymore, and they play DVDs as well so you won't have to convert all of your DVDs.

Some people are on budgets, and some just like to keep things simple and frugal. I just bought a decent but basic region-free dvd player for about a third the cost of cheap bluray players. And I still find plenty to enjoy and think about on my gold box dvd, even without the new stuff.

On the bright side, blu-ray players are getting cheaper and cheaper as time moves on. Amazon has some low-end models for around $35. Of course if you don't have an hdtv you might still want to hold off, but at least they're getting cheaper over time too.

And even better, if you look on the net you can find all the deleted scenes for free!! But yeah, I'll buy the dvd when it's released (and trust me, to make even more money, they WILL release this as a stand alone dvd within a year.

I don't even have a TV, I just watch DVDs on my laptop.

I bought The Entire Mystery Bluray edition but I would also buy a standalone of FWWM if there could also be included an alternate director's cut with a lot of the missing pieces included. I know I know! David Lynch edited the film perfectly doing what he did. But I would still would like to watch it together! When I ever have the time I may do it myself someday!

It's not so bad as long as you can keep the fear from your mind.

You paid good money for the Gold Box DVD?

Well back in the '90s I paid $100+ for the VHS boxset of the series, and then separately had to get the pilot and the prequel on VHS as well.

Being the fan that I am of this show I bought it again on DVD as season one and season two. Later I still bought it again on DVD as the Gold Box. The double dipping for the Bluray release was well worth the price for the deleted scenes alone.

If I came across this show on LaserDisc I'd buy it on that as well, even though I don't even have a LaserDisc player. That's just how much Twin Peaks means to me. I also have the books, the audio-cassette and other Twin Peaks related purchases.

If they ever release the deleted scenes separately they should just charge the same amount as the Blu-ray edition as a whole. Just so then people could complain that it needs to be cheaper. :P

Okay your reply is fair.

But... I'm working a cheap job for now... mostly because I'm lazy. Also I think of Twin Peaks as a show from the VHS era. i don't feel the need for bluray type precision. I was 11 or so when the show was on... and my video technology memories of 1991 is VHS... bluray quality might actually ruin the show for me!

So yes I stand by my statement that I'm a fan but I'm only willing to pay extra money for Fire Walk with Me stand-alone. I'm willing to pay $20 in addition to the $60 or so I paid for the Gold Box. I think I'm being reasonable! ;-)
