Pick 3 Deleted Scenes you would put back in the film

enough said.

1. Palmer family Dinner and learning Norweigian- Would add some lightness and relative normalcy, and show the other side of the Palmer family having fun together to contrast the darkness. You could tell from the show that the Palmers really did get along but there was darkness underneath.

2. Laura at the Hayward's house- Another more normal view of Laura showing the bond between her, Donna, and the Haywards and contrasting the Hell she is living in at home.

3. Bob Speaking to Laura and the smile- Just an awesome and unnerving scene. Shows the power of Bob kind of alluring Laura to the dark side and makes her decision to die at the end more meaningful.

There are other great scenes in there but I think these 3 would add the most to the film and really should have been kept in there mostly to show a more normal and endearing side to Laura Palmer, showcasing why everyone loved her so much.

Was quite surprised how good the deleted scenes were.

The scene above the convenience store, can't believe that didn't make the final cut.

Amazing how good this film still is.

The greatest ending of any film I've ever seen.

This is not an easy choice. However I think for the story it would be best to include:

The fight between Cable and Desmond. As the movie currently plays it's an abrupt cut going from stonewall cops refusing to hand over Banks' body to suddenly it's being hauled away with no explanation.

The Palmer family acting silly at the table. It's a counterbalance to the "wash your hands" scene.

The arrival at the bar with Laura calling Donna a downer. It would set up Donna's motivation to act more careless and wild to please her friend.

I completely agree with these three. They were my favorite as well and would have added more to the film.

As much as I love the film I always thought there should be one scene showcasing a normal or happy night for the Palmer family and I really liked how we learned a little about the relationship between Laura and the Hayward family. It was interesting to see how they knew a little bit about how troubled she was.

And that smile scene is just so disturbing. I couldn't get that bright smile out of my head for hours.

1- Laura saying goodbye to her mother. Laura doesn't know, Ms Palmer doesn't know, but we the audience know it is their last goodbye. I admit I choked up during this scene.

2- Leland coming back home just before Laura steps on James' bike. Scary!

That's it. I enjoyed the deleted scenes as an extra, but I think ultimately cutting them was the right decision, they might have dragged an already long film.

- A point in every direction is the same as no point at all.

5. Laura's creepy smile

6. Leland staring at Laura in front of the house.

I think all of these can be spliced up in the movie to get a more coherent and an overall better final take.

The Norwegian one because it starts off so scary looking and it ends up hilarious.

The Hayward house because that scene with Moira Kelly as Donna really made me believe that Donna was a sweet and good person, unlike Lara Flynn Boyle's Donna.

And the smile is just fantastic! That was my favorite part!

I have to say though the scene with Norma and Ed in the truck listening to the theme music from far away was really beautiful! It was really touching and haunting because the music was always set to violence and darkness and two people hear how beautiful it is despite the sadness. Just like their situation.

It's not so bad as long as you can keep the fear from your mind.

I thought the fight scene was the most pointless one of them all, adding nothing to FWWM on any level - and the damned thing goes on forever, too. Not only doesn't this interminable boxing bout conceivably fit any place in the film without seriously disrupting the narrative flow, it's difficult to see why it was even filmed in the first place.

I kinda enjoyed all of the deleted scenes but it's easy to understand why they didn't made the cut. Some of them were not good enough, technically or artistically, others were good but would have been a distraction from the main storyline. The final cut couldn't have been edited better.

Although there is one scene I think SHOULD have been in the film, it's the one where Teresa Banks rings Leland to tell him that she knows who Laura is. That looks on Leland's face as he puts the phone down... That pretty much explain why Leland/Bob decided to kill Teresa, and I can't see why they thought it shouldn't be in the movie.

It's like a black hole, whose existence can't be seen in the usual sense, only inferred from the behavior of things around it. Many things in the series lead to the conclusion that this --concealment-- was one of his main motives.

(Actually, there's a similar moment in the series that I think must have taken all the discipline in the world not to include, because it would have destroyed too many future storylines: Audrey's mask slips -- a high-water mark in the annals of inappropriate laughter.)

I've watched the missing pieces only once, and there aren't many that I find integral and/or fascinating enough to want them to be included in the movie. The ones that I do, though, really should have been in it, IMO!

1) Don't remember the details but basically the scene that helps explain Sarah Palmer and her part in the family dynamics. I remember she seemed somehow confused by Leland and Laura.

2) The smile (how could they cut it? That scene alone makes both Sheryl Lee and Laura Palmer even bigger cultural icons)!

3) Norwegians (went from looking so scary and disturbed when taken out of context in the Full Mystery trailer, into something very absurd and supposedly light and somehow false in a house full of darkness. By false I don't mean that the acting comes off false or that the Palmers aren't being sincere - I'm saying there is a huge elephant in the room which is always lurking underneath, buried in a shallow grave, which makes even actual fun and bonding of the Palmer family seem...obscene, somehow).

I think it should've been longer but I hated the clean look it had in The Missing Pieces.
