Would this movie been better if they've made it as a PG-13 film instead of a PG film?

While I love the movie the way it was I feel it would've been better if they've made it as a PG-13 film because I feel they would've took more risks that way.

it may have since it walked a strange line between trying to be a honey i shrunk the kids family film as well as edgy and for teenagers

I have never thought of it trying to be an edgy version of Honey I Shrunk The Kids, that is a very good analysis there, I think this is a superior film to Honey I Shrunk The Kids.
