Has aged much better than Wayne's World!!

Sister Act and Wayne's World were two of the biggest comedy hits of 1992. (And they both had inferior sequels.) I caught WW in a recent airing on some station and found it looks quite dated. Either that, or it's just funny the first time you see it and maybe once more but that's it.

However, THIS movie I could watch over and over again and never get tired of seeing cranky Mary Wickes or relentlessly cheery Kathy Najimy. Plus that opening musical number is delightfully tacky!

That settles it. I'm skipping the WW DVD and buying the SA!

I'd say Wayne's World dated better, broadly a much funnier movie and had a better sequel.

Yes, I was able to revisit this movie recently as it is being shown on SHOWTIME this month and it is still funny as hell and the musical numbers are "de bomb". I especially love the nuns' version of "My Guy" which becomes "My God"

funny even on the sister act board waynes world wins, by the way, using ww short for waynes world is very distracting! well.. here goes one more, i'm gonna have to go with waynes world also, i can't get enough of that movie, and i think the sequel is even better than the first. i don't understand the mixing of violence and comedy like the early part of this movie, for some reason this was big among kids in the 90's, the most famous scene was the squeaking on the board which i guess was in the sequel. everytime when she went outside i just felt like please don't do that, i thought it was a bit strange they had the shot on the cop on the bench only once and pretty far into the scene.

a well in sight up front,
gives me the strength to go,
through dry miles,
dragging by the mud near destination i find,
didnt have no goal,
till inspiration in the soul,
like the greatest knocked the hurt right out of me,
guided through a minefield,
it wasn't my destiny when a demon played a trick on me,
down to the last man lord in war a battle victory,
and upon i see a rich well right in front of me.
