Would Frank Be Eligible for a Military Pension?

My understanding is that Frank was on a military disability pension, so my question is as follows. Would a man who disabled himself by playing games with grenades while drunk be eligible for a military pension? Could the army be able to say that his disability is not their responsibility? I am not a veteran so sorry if this is a dumb question, but can some veterans chime in and clarify?

Often some military members get quietly retired when they are involved in a scandal. Many times they are told to retire or face a court martial.

Another factor would be that some government pensions become vested after paying in to it for a length of time (20 years may be standard) and can't be revoked for misconduct. Take the case of Col Russell Williams; he retained his pension despite his criminal convictions. Also, Dr Frank Tassone (film Bad Education - based on a true story) kept his pension.
