Great core character in lead
I understand that there’s often the stereotypes reference of the whole White man Messiah or saviour going to Africa and feeling they’re superior and entitled enough to free/help all the poor weak and fragile African people. It’s been done a lot of movies and a lot of books. However, just the sheer love that that main character in this movie has for those of darker skin complexion is just really beautiful. And I wish it was an opinion and feeling held by more people in the world. Skin colour means absolutely nothing. You didn’t pick it. You didn’t get to decide. You had no control or say in the matter. So then to judge people by something that was out of their hands and not up to them is just so fucking ridiculous. People should be treated and judged by their own personal individual actions, choices and behaviour. Doesn’t matter what gender you are, or what ethnicity race. If you’re a shit person, then you should be treated like shit. But if you’re a good person, doesn’t matter what you look like or how you identify, you should be treated well.
