thats so mean. i dunno what you look like, but how heartless are you to think such shallow cruel things about a person you've never met? if someone is physically attractive, so what? it doesn't last anyway

reply

bit harsh buddy! red heads are the same as any other hair colored species! get your head out of the pie hole!

This is not American Pie, Porky's or some other Hollywoodish deep and artistic American movie. This movie tries to depict us a piece of reality. And you can't expect everyone to be an ordinary American clone (attractive mostly only to Americans) from Hollywood.

In fact, if most of females I meet every day in my real world looked loke this girl I'd think I've been transported to paradise.

If you saw her on the screen when you entered the room you were by far more late than you ever thought.

So it was obviously made a mini-serial. Anyway, I found the movie rather good (considering that I'm not too fond of such one-big-hero in saga-type movies), and discussing about someone's beauty or uglyness is useless - tastes are too different. And it seems out of topic on this board.

She was absolutely adorable! As Freud said "on the other side of attraction lies repulsion." In other words, if you can't have it, you hate it. Since the shmuck who started this thread could never get a girl of that caliber he obviously hates her. You know, I almost feel sorry for him. Almost.

Oh, shut up!
how could you be so heartless?
Who gives a *beep* what she looks like seriously? That's the reality, he loved her for who she was.
I think she was cute :]
I must admit, i wondered why they chose her.
But not because she was 'ugly'

reply

That's funny, cause you were just saying how you hated the blonde from Officer and a Gentleman cause she was "ugly".

reply

I don't get why people think she's ugly...I thought she was cute

Much love and BIG KISSES,
Steph

PERKELE!!!

I didn't think she was ugly- I only thought her hair was out of control (which, I know, was the fashion those days). When the scene with her came up, my friend, who was sitting next to me, said quietly, "Oh God...don't go there, PK. Don't go there..." :D

reply

I think they chose her because she was a wonderful little actress and because her hair so stood out in the crowd at the boxing match.

I thought she was beautiful with maybe just a touch of teenage awkwardness, which was very effective in the role. She was electric. When PK challenged her to go against her father's wishes and she said "What do you call this?" I loved it. A fantastic pivotal moment . And her funeral was another pivotal moment, with the 3 groups: English, Afrikaans, and Blacks all coming to pay their respects. I really felt that they all loved her deeply. Excellent direction.

I think Fay Masterson is absolutely gorgeous. She was a bright ray of sunshine in an otherwise utterly depressing movie.
