Loved it until the ending

The movie went downhill so fast after Furlong's character suddenly started acting really strange. I'm assuming they tried a mystery thing there, but it didn't work at all in my opinion.

That doesn't mean I thought it was all bad, of course. I still enjoyed it a lot. I just wish it wouldn't have headed in such a weird direction. I would have enjoyed it more. The final scene was also really strange, and at times embarrassing to watch.

Still, I liked it enough to give it a 6. Underrated movie.

I've seen some of the workprint, and Geoff acted more normal during the end. Dunno why they scrapped it.

While it would have left a lot of gaps to fill, I kinda wish they had done the movie without the mother plot. Yes, it was the over arching plot, but everything with Gus was far more interesting. Furlong's suddenly going mad and not particularly caring that his best friend just died just didn't work for me.

If Furlong wanted to play nuts, I would have preferred he confess to his father Gus was undead, his father not believe him, and take it upon himself to destroy what he helped create. It could have been a heck of a lot more tense. Gus and kid take each other out. Father finds his son dying, realizes there's no way to save him in time, son begs father not to bring him back. Yeah, it would have been repetitive of the first film, but that still would have been pretty creepy.

I think it was finally his best friend dying that made him snap..exept for his father and his kitten,. all his comfort zones where ruined for him..
