There were a lot of sadistic parts of this movie, Gus killing the dog Zowie, Also Clyde trying to kill Jeff with the motorcycle tire, Gus killing Clyde with the motorcycle tire, Gus killing Drew and his mom and they ended up getting killed by the truck, this movie seemed more cruel than the first one.
They wanted to make it different from part 1 so you wouldnt end up seeing the same exact movie. Part 1 was slow and had little gore so it was natural to up the ante in the sequel.
A bit sadistic? That's being too kind. But there's nothing wrong with sadism as long as it's contained to film. If there was something wrong with it, Rob Zombie wouldn't have a film career and the Saw movies would have stopped at the first or second films instead of shooting for number 10, which they are and perhaps even beyond.
The opening scene, when the kid sees his mom electrocuted, was over the top. Then when she is burned to death again and melts, that was totally disturbing. So he watched his mom die not once but twice!
He forced himself onto her and, despite her telling him to stop, he proceeded to screw her. Married or not, that *is* rape. Marriage doesn't mean you can do what you want with your wife. Forcefully laying with someone is rape by definition, unless you're roleplaying. It's a physical offense, about as bad as hitting someone (in a sense worse, mentally). Relationship status is irrelevant. Hell, they being married could make it worse. Not as the crime it is, but again, mentally. A relationship needs trust. How will she look at him after something like that?
--- ...Screw ze clearance. Ve vill *take* that plane.
Even though I like to watch a scary movie from time to time, I think there's EVERTHING wrong with the amount of sadism in horror movies. There is no need for the extreme violence shown in so many movies to make these movies creepy and scary. I rather feel that often the movies in which violence is suggested rather than shown in a graphic way are even the scarier ones.
Movies like this one (or Saw or also Hostel) are nothing but sick!
