Am I alone in thinking this is a fairly decent film? (possible spoilers)

I am so going to be crucified for my next few statements, and this post may contain a few spoilers.

Am I the only one who not only doesn't think this sequel is as horrible as everybody else seems to think, but who actually likes the film?

In no way at all am saying that it's better than the original, as it absolutely pales in comparison. However, i've seen them both a handful of times, and I enjoy them both.

This film, believe it or not, makes me cry more than the first one. I cry my eyes out during the entire scene of Gage's death. Yet in the second one, I cry several times, particularly when Zowie is shot and at the end when they have the little montage of all the characters that were killed.

I love this movie. I can't say it's a high quality film, but I am thoroughly entertained by it. Everyone did decent acting, you don't notice too many goofs. After seeing it a lot of times it's humorous, a little ridiculous, but I love it. And I think the first time I saw the movie, I cried when Zowie was shot and Drew was holding him in the woods. And the montage is a bit sad.

Believe me you are not alone. I just watched this movie again and I am actually impressed by it. It just has that eerie feeling to it. I gave it a 9 out of 10 which I know is high but I really enjoyed this movie.

I first saw this in the 90's when it came on USA when I was around 8. I hated it. It just sucked so bad. Then I saw the real version a few years ago with all the cursing, blood chucked scenes, and it made it a hell of a lot better. Gus and those rabbits was just sick!!! A lot of people watch the TV version like I did and hate it. But when they see the real version they love it.

When I was younger, I preferred the original because of Gage Creed. I like this one better now. Louis Creed was the ideal family man with a high-paying job and a quaint house in the country. The people in PS2 all had glaring issues which made them more relatable. Plus, the cast performed better. The only good actors in PS were Fred Gwynne and Miko Hughes.

I personally loved it. Just as much as the original. Just for different reasons. It's a movie that creeped me out and left me creeped out for days after. Yes it has its corny parts. But I liked the storyline and the characters.

It could have been ALOT worse.

This is a great movie. Problem is, people keep comparing it to the first. They are different movies and should not be compared.

I always thought it was an entertaining film and I was amazed how they were able to make it so good without any input from Steven King.

I think it could be considered "fairly decent" if the makers of the film never read the book or saw the first movie. If someone told them about an old Indian burial ground that brings animals and people back to life and they made this movie then maybe it would be ok. But it is a TERRIBLE sequel and it does no justice to the book either. I was surprised to see Mary Lambert's name on this one who, if I'm not mistaken, directed the first.

I enjoy this film, the Micmac burying ground is mentioned, after Zowie dies, Drew mentions to Jeff about them burying him up there and it's also shown at the end, it just don't look the same. It would be hard to make a sequel starting right after the first movie, Ellie would be living with her grandparents in Chicago and would never go back to Ludlow again, so you couldn't do much with 3 characters in Chicago. The only way to do a sequel to the first is to start off fresh with new characters.

Ha, I liked it quite a bit. I'd always avoided it cause I admire the first film quite a bit and the IMDb rating for this one was just 4.4 which is awfully low, but I ended up really digging it. A really kooky movie. Great cast too.

No, I actually like it a lot. It's got nothing on the original, but it is still a good movie.
