IMO, Drew's mom wasn't a very good one. Not to mention she looked to be in her late 20's and her son looked to be about 13. But she lets Gus talk to her son anyway he wants, she lets him kill the boy's dog, and lets Gus ruin his halloween fun. There's no way I would let my husband treat my son that way.

shareSorry, MimiNowGigi, but you are dead wrong. Amanda was a bad mother, young or not. She wasn't trying to give Drew a good life, she was trying to give herself a good life. Beyond that, she realized that Gus was an abusive piece of *beep* You could tell in her eyes. As a parent, it was her job to step in and stop what was going on. However, she turned her head whenever her piece of crap husband mentally screwed up her son.
It was her job to protect her child and she failed miserably at it. As a parent, if that meant jumping in between them or anything, she should have done it. A child, even a teenager, is dependent upon their adults to protect them. She didn't do this at all. She was a poor excuse for a mother. When you have a child, your life ceases being about your needs first. If you have the maturity to have sex, than you must accept everything that comes with it. She was incapable of providing anything for her son. She was a bad mother period.
Definately a *beep* mom. But who cares how young she looked? She either had him in her teens. Or she just looks young lmao. I am 23 and am told I look about 14-17. So yeah its not a big deal.

Well sometimes a mom gets so lonely she is blind to what is going on. I had a similar experience growing up. Mind you not having my pet killed, or having to bring the guy back to life.

When she decided to have sex and conceive a child, her loneliness became a less important variable. The protection of her child came first. If she couldn't understand this, she shouldn't have had sex.
And furthermore, the mom was not blind to anything. When Gus was abusing Drew, the mother saw it and turned away from it. She was aware of the abuse but was too *beep* to do anything about it. Do not defend her, she was a bad mother.

To top it off, the woman playing the mom was a terrible actress.
