Some kids are just bastards, sorry to say it, but it's the truth.
When I was a little girl a meaner kid broke my foot by stomping on it, and mind you this was kid my age.
I never did a single thing to her, and she was raised by a decent family.
I know that much because my older cousin was friends with her sister, and nothing nasty was ever brought up even now that me and my Cuz are adults.
She just says that that girl was born bad and eventually she was booted by her own family for being so vindictive.

heres my opinion on that

what if Gus and Jeff's mom had a kid and it was Clyde, the whole reasoning for Gus bringing Jeff's mom to him to bury and have Clyde come back to life..so they all could be together..maybe Clyde was upset bc his mother wasnt "there" for him..i dont know..its a crazy idea..i just felt that something had to be there..

Kids are mean for no reason. I went to school with a bunch of jerks and I never did anything to them. Bullies are born to be jerks.

Not all the time, maybe in Clyde's case yes. Bullies often repeat behavior they are experiencing at home.

I think Clyde was just being a punk. Kids can be nasty.

They like to instigate others. They did it to me.

Some of them weren't in ANY of my classes!

Every small town has a jerk like Gus, Clyde wa the town's next generation.

But in all seriousness, I agree with other posters who say he was jealous. Here was this kid from Hollywood who had a star for a mother, Clyde probably felt inferior and wanted to bring him down a few notches.

He was just the town bully. Plain and simple. Every school has one person who's just a jerk and pulls that crap. Jeff just had a big target on his back, due to his mom being famous. So he was an easy picking for Clyde.

Just a all around jealous douche. He was jealous because 1. Jeff had a hollywood actress for a mom, and 2. How beautiful she was.
