Umm...why 57?


I know it was Snipes' characters seat number, but... why 57? Just a random number?

It wasn't his seat number...the stewardess was doing a pre-flight head count and he just happened to be number 57.

I think because that was his seat number. They just happened to choose that number because it sounded right, I guess. What number would you want-100?

Passenger 21 rolls off the tongue nice. But out of the 100 numbers I'd say 57 ranks up there as the best.

It's a tribute to Irving "Chuckles" Heinz, the man who invented ketchup in the late 1800s. The copious use of ketchup in this movie is, to me, the most obvious tip-off of this.
