In his prolific overseas career, he made some major marks in the U.S. from the 1970s on. Three of his films included THE BULLET TRAIN, GOLGO 13 (later to be an anime), and MR. BASEBALL. He was memorable in BLACK RAIN and outstanding in THE YAKUZA. He'll be especially missed.
