Well, the manager and Jack had that meeting where Jack stressed to him that he needs to change his management ways. The manager decided to give it a try, though half way through the game the manager said this new way was not working. But with Jack urging him on, he stayed the course and they won, obviously.
Player wise, the bond was built over several weeks when Jack was suspended and working out with the manager. You see the bond in full swing when as a team they start running with Jack. So, it really wasnt just one game, the movie just summed it all up in one game. It actually took some time for everyone to start trusting one another.
Yes most of what you say is true...however no manager on the planet is going to decide to 'give it a try' on changing his managing methods...during the championship game.
