Does anybody know anything about the chick?

Aya Takanashi is very beautiful in this movie.

I was surprised to see that this was her ONLY movie.

She didn't die, did she?

I suppose maybe she is acting in Japan or somthing but I can't find anything about her anywhere.

Does anybody know anything about her. I just can't believe she wouldn't get anymore roles.

I posted this in the other thread and on the main board:

This was Aya Takanashi's only movie role. There was such outrage among the Japanese public over her love scene with Tom Selleck (a foreigner) that she was never offered another role in Movies or television.

reply

Thats too bad. She should've tried her luck in America.

That's absurd. It wasn't even much of a love scene.

I was surprised this was her only role as well. I wonder what she's doing now that she's not acting.

Post proof or retract. I hardly think a PG rated love scene killed her career.

Wow. Reminds me of Mari Honjo in "Death Machines". As far as Japanese girls go, she (Takanashi) was very plain jane.

Which is probably why she never did anything else ever again.

There is no way that is true. The Japanese are very liberal about sex. The even have something called 'the virgin show' where girls can go and lose their cherry and have it shown at 7pm.

not true, and shows like that are only broadcast on expensive premium channels and not regular TV. you will find there is no nudity on basic television there. I lived there for a year and can tell you Japan keeps its sexuality private, and the attitude is as long as it is behind closed doors, it's fine.

reply

Thanks for the clarification.
Japanese girls I've known have been pretty easy though.

if the young women had a problem with the public over her sex scene, what about
Richard Chamberlain's young lady from that TV MOVIE that ran for six nights back in the 80's-SHOGUN. she worked here and there.

We're wrong about WWII Japan? Was the Nanjing Massacre all made up then? Never happened? Imperial Japanese soldiers didn't eat captive Chinese and American soldiers because they didn't look at them as human? Ask the Chinese how misunderstood the WWII era Japanese are.

What do you know about the japanese culture? Where did you get the idea that Japan and its people are backward? As far as I remember, when the movie was released in Japan, I did not heard or witnessed anyone talking negatively about the movie just because the character the actress played sexually got involved with the leading character. Very few people made a big deal about it. It is just someone like kramsey20 who feel their racist egos threatened began to come up with the bogus claims about the country he/she never understand. The movie was released in 1992, thus the state and the country and nature of its people were nothing like the Westerners wanted to believe to be true, especially what they heard about the WWII era.

Personally, I do not believe movies are good tools to learn about the foreign cultures. It would be like learning about the sport of boxing by watching Syvester Stallone's Rocky.

and kramsey20 wins the Retard[ed post] of the Month award.

Oddly enough, it's ironic that you should talk about bigotry, generalizing an entire country just because it's considered hip, but then I suppose it's to be expected from someone who comes from a place where people like to fornicate pies and who think terrorists are the root of all their problems.

Just sitting here watching Game 7 Rangers vs Cardinals and came across this very old question that I asked many years ago.

We aren't the only ones who wondered about this, came across this today kind of by accident.

Still, doesn't answer the question but it's kind of funny how so many people seem to wonder whatever happened this actress?

Same name yeah, but I don't think she is the one from the movie as they look nothing alike. The girl in the pics looks to be about in the 25 to 35 age range.
