Why wasn't Malcolm's side life as a prostitute not explored?

I read that he was a prostitute to obtain money, before going to prison, and I feel that this would have been a very curious angle for the movie to explore, but the movie only eludes to it, when Malcolm is giving one of his speeches later, as a minister.

So I was wondering, was there a particular reason why they chose not to explore portray it?

reply

Well the movie was made in 1992 and this information does not appear to have been widely known at the time. Manning Marable only recently wrote about it.

What source were you quoting from?

reply

Oh I thought it was in Malcolm's autobiography from the 60s, but I maybe I am remembering it wrong?

reply

The Autobiography of Malcolm X, is mainly fiction...

Whose idea was it for the word "Lisp" to have an "S" in it?

reply

I felt like this particular aspect of the 'petty criminal' lifestyle was vaguely hinted at with the character of Rudy doing caretaker stuff for the old man.

reply

wait, like gay stuff?

reply

It's little more than a rumor/unverified claim, decades after the fact

reply

Probably because there is an unwritten rule in Hollywood never to depict black characters negatively in any way. They are always heroic wonderful people of the highest dignity. Just like George Floyd. A movie about him will be made soon. It will accurately depict him as a loving husband and father and the top brain surgeon in the state of Minnesota.

reply

oh boo hoo, you sound like such a butthurt person. I thought the sjw stuff didnt start until 2016 as you said?? Point to the doll where the black person touch you.

reply

You may not like what I said but it is the truth. Can you explain why George Floyd received TWO state funerals? Gotta make him a hero no matter what! Why? Because he was black. Can't admit black people even commit crimes, it's gotten so ridiculous. Despite the fact they commit most of the violent crimes in America. And that has been true for a long, long time. But the Hollywood films and tv all depict black people as noble, intelligent, peaceful, wonderful people with the kind of integrity and decency the rest of the world can only hope to achieve. If not, they face the wrath of BLM!
