Good movie ... made me cry ... didn't like ending
A good movie but it wouldn't make my viewing list because the emotions expressed were not compelling enough for me. I found the pacing a bit slow and some of the scenes were too stereotypical. And yes Nolte and Sarandon do very credible work in their respective roles but the movie lacked some continuity. I remember Kirk Douglass once said that the purpose of a movie is to entertain. Lorenzo's Oil did not entertain me. I shed some tears but didn't like the ending. In the ending credits the director choose to take a leap and go from Lorenzo hoping to get a cure for his rare desease to having testimonial clips of ALD patience who were cured. Such a leap did nothing for me. The movie had its moments but fell on its face in the end.
